Orhan Cem Cetin

The unique artistic understanding of Orhan Cem Çetin, one of the pioneers of conceptual photography in Turkey, is revealed within the discipline of his studio work. The artist's photographic process, which combines traditional techniques with experimental approaches, is documented accompanied by selected images from his exhibitions and examples from his portfolio. Çetin's works, which question the relationship between image and reality, redefine the boundaries of photography.

Ahmet Ertug

"Traces Forms" presents Ertuğ's ritual of documenting architectural spaces with his large format camera almost as a kind of meditation. The documentary, which reveals the technical subtleties of the artist's works, which are included in the Metropolitan and British Museum collections and known for his "Libraries" and "Temples of Knowledge" books, visualizes the philosophy in his statement "I place my camera in the heart of the building." The camera follows the production process of Ertuğ's large-sized prints of 140x180 cm, bringing the patient and sensitive nature of architectural photography to the viewer.

Alp Sime

The documentary follows Sime's street photography practice in the crowded streets of the city. The camera, which documents the journey of the artist, who adopts Henri Cartier-Bresson's "decisive moment" philosophy, in pursuit of the "suspended moment" in photography, closely observes his intuitive working method. Images that reveal the patient observation practice behind the "Istanbul Stories" project exhibited at the Leica Gallery and Fotoistanbul convey Sime's selective approach to the viewer.

Suzan Pektas

The documentary closely follows Pektaş's shooting process and her dialogue with her models. "Traces Forms" delicately conveys how her personal history is reflected in her work by documenting the formation process of the artist's "Border" and "In-Between" series, which are shaped through identity, migration, and the state of being a woman. The documentary, which deciphers the intellectual background of Pektaş's works, a Sorbonne graduate whose work has been exhibited at the French Cultural Center and Arter, deeply addresses the relationship between photography and social issues.

Sinem Dişli

The documentary records Dişli's working process in the darkroom with close-up shots. Images shaped by chemicals in the hands of the artist, who uses 19th-century techniques such as cyanotype and gum bichromate, take the viewer back to the analog roots of photography. By documenting the formation stages of the "Surface" and "Layer" series exhibited at Akbank Sanat and the Istanbul Photography Museum, the camera reveals the artistic value of chemical processes that have been forgotten in the digital age.

Ali Alışır

The documentary examines Alışır's hybrid art practice, a graduate of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Painting Department. Shots that follow the artist's process of blending skills from painting discipline with contemporary photographic techniques make the role of digital manipulation in the creation process visible. The camera, which documents step by step the post-production stages of Alışır's "Digital Melancholies" series, whose works are exhibited at Contemporary Istanbul and Art Basel, reveals the changing relationship of today's visual culture with technology.
